Does Lutsenko appeal to the Security Service for help in the case of Adelaja?

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine plans to appeal to the Security Service of Ukraine for help in the investigation of the criminal case brought against the senior pastor of the "Embassy of God" church, Sunday Adelaja.

In particular, the mass-media with reference to the sources of the Ministry reports that it has exhausted its own resources in investigating the criminal case instituted against the senior pastor of the religious organization «Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations», a Nigerian, Sunday Adelaja, under Article 190 (part 4) of Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Fraud”) for the appropriation of money of citizens in respect of an especially large amount by participating in lawful financial operations of the  company «King’s Capital». The Ministry initiated addressing to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine with a suggestion to consider the question to institute a criminal case by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The mentioned stated that “while preaching Sunday Adelaja said that the main task of the religious organization headed by him was to create so-called ‘Christian state’ on the territory of Ukraine, which ignores the obvious fact of the Ukrainian statehood”.

According to a previous assessment of the Chief investigation department the Service there are no grounds to institute a criminal case under Article 110 of Criminal Code of Ukraine.

It is also known that the first vice-prime Minister of Ukraine A.Turchynov ordered the deputy of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Serghiy Chebotar to organize a close meeting with participation of the chiefs of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the State Committee of Ukraine on nationalities and religions to consider the case.
