crownPASTOR OVIE: LET’S US AS KINGS NOT MAKE THE MISTAKES OF KING SAUL

All those, who know that they are Kings, should please wave their hands? Praise God!
This is the truth as the Bible says that the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ has made us:
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.    (
Revelation 1:5,6)

But because Apostle John did not get all the words word, our Lord Jesus Christ repeated them in chapter 5
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:10)

A King must have a territory, nation or a group of people/beings over whom he reigns over. If this is not so then He or she is not a King or Queen. So God the Father with the precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ has made us Kings and we are to reign on this earth by washing us from our sins with the Blood of our Jesus Christ.

Today, the devil is ruling in certain areas of man’s activities is a fact but not the truth, he and his hosts of agents are gatecrashers, they are uninvited and unwelcome guests, they are intruders and they are all thieves. The truth is that God never created them to dwell on this earth. God created the earth and gave it to the sons of men.

16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. (Psalms 115:16)

This can be confirmed from Genesis: lucifer, the devil, satan,  and dragons were not parts of the beings God created and placed on this earth. After God created the earth, everything therein and us:
fruitsAnd God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:28)

The words subdue and have dominion have to do with ruling and reigning over some beings and things.
Genesis chapters 1 and 2 are about the creation of man and making him to reign over the works of God.
Genesis chapter 3 is about how the devil came and stole our kingship or rule.
Genesis chapter 3 to the last chapter of Revelation are teaching and showing us how to regain our kingship.

Our duty today is for us to regain our power and authority, sit on our thrones, destroy the devil, his works and his kingdom of darkness and establish the Kingdom of God here on the earth.

We must take notes of some certain truths:
1. We are not to subdue and dominate our fellow human beings, remembered what our Lord Jesus Christ said:
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. (Matthew 23:11)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (
Ephesians 6:12)

We as Priests are called to serve and minister to our fellow human beings.
We are only made Kings over the devil and his hosts of agents, hence when we command them they obey, we bind them they are bound, we cast them out and they go away.

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. (Matthew 10:1)
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (
Mark 16:17,18)

Mankind has three major difficulties or problems and they are:
 1. Not knowing and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
 2. Not knowing and accepting the Holy Spirit.
 3. Not knowing, not recognizing and not obeying the Voice of the Holy Spirit.

We all remember that God the Father and Jesus Christ speak to us through the Holy Spirit:people
20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.
23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. (
Exodus 23:20-23)
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (
John 14:26)

One of the major problems of King Saul was not knowing, not recognizing and not obeying the Voice of the Holy Spirit.
He was a King like you. A lot of us did not know we are Kings and Queen until we met with a man or woman of God. So was King Saul.

We have Kingmakers (KMS) - God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We need constant consultation with our KMS. Why should we not receive all the necessary information from our Creator, Who knows the place He has prepared for you and Who knows the very end of the beginning of everything? Who has promised to guide us with His right hand, counsels, His eyes, testimonies, etc.
All successful earthly kings, presidents, do have them - ministers, advisers - economic, technical, etc.
In every thing we must inquire from the Lord:
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (
Proverbs 3:5,6)

During his time we did not see that he spent quality time with God, reading the Word and even serving God with fasting and praying frequently like David did. Hence he had difficulty hearing the voice of God.

You must always remember the two things sin and iniquity prevent us from: Hearing from God - knowing and recognizing His voice, and obeying His voice.

1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (
Isaiah 59:1,2)

Tell your neighbor sin and iniquity separate you from God, they blind the eyes and block the ears.
Even when a man/woman of God tells a sinner what to do, the sinner finds it very difficult to accept any talk about doing what God wants.

When you are asking God for something and you are not getting an answer, it means two things: no or this is not the time. Develop your patient and wait upon the Lord. Bible says those that wait upon the Lord shall not be are shamed. Isaiah 49:23

And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. (1 Samuel 28:6)

Even when the man of God tells him what God wants to do, he was not manifesting total obedience.

king saulLet us look at some of the mistakes of King Saul:
1. As we have already mentioned above, we did not see where he was abiding in the Word.
14 When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel. (
Deuteronomy 17:14-20)

2. We saw no where he was interceding, supplicating and praying before God except after he was immediately anointed and secondly we he was looking for David to kill him - And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets? (1 Samuel 10:11
1 Samuel 19:24

3. Promising and not fulfilling: He asked David to bring 100 Philistines foreskins to become his son-in-law, David brought 200 foreskins. He gave him his daughter but later he changed his mind.
But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David’s wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim. (1 Samuel 25:44)

4. Why trying to kill your servant – David, who saved your kingship and your life from the giant-Goliath? You do not know the plan of God for that person. Women and men: be careful what you say about other people before Kings and Leaders; Women were singing King Saul killed 1000 Philistines and David killed 10,000.

5. King Saul decided to make offering to the Lord when he was not a Priest:
And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.  And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him. And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash; (1 Samuel 13:9-11)

Don’t do what God has not asked you to do, like King Saul did.
Don’t try to shorten or quicken God’s timing, like Abraham and Sarah did.
Don’t try to help God, like Rebecca did.

6. Why trying to kill the only man – David with the anointing to deliver King Saul from depression when he plays on his musical instrument? Some people in depression are suicidal, some kill themselves. David several times saved his life.
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. (1 Samuel 16:23)

God I want this anointing – to free the depressed, oppressed, obsessed and the possessed from the devil.

7. Disobeying the words of the Lord, he can not hear directly from God. God had to send Prophet Samuel to tell him what to do with the Amalekites.
1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. (
1 Samuel 15:1-3)

david and saulWhat did King Saul do?
8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly. (
1 Samuel 15:8,9)

His reason for sparing the best animals was:
And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. (1 Samuel 15:15)
Do you know what God calls partial obedience?
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. (1 Samuel 15:23)

8. King Saul killed 85 priests, their city and everything they had saying they helped, who was running from King Saul. The priests were ignorant that the King was looking for David.
And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod. And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword. (1 Samuel 22:18,19)

9. You as King have no right to return to Egypt to seek to hear from God by using the agents and means of the devil such as Diviner, extrasensory, shamans, horoscopes, no matter tough things are. This exactly what King Saul did.
Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee. (
1 Samuel 28:7,8)

book of judgesDo you know the punishment of God to King Saul for doing this?
17 And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:
18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.
19 Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines. (
1 Samuel 28:17-19)

God’s laws of success are Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1:1-3 and 1 Peter 1:4-10; Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: (2 Peter 1:10)
